Who Does What on a Fire,
Water or Smoke Job?
Some jobs go beyond a roof replacement. Fire damage, water intrusion, and smoke damage affect the entire structure — and navigating the insurance claim for full restoration is a completely different process than a standard storm claim.
I handle the exterior scope — roof, siding, gutters, fascia, soffit, decking — and my interior crew handles the drywall and ceilings inside. For the big mitigation work — water extraction and dry-out, mold remediation, fire and smoke cleanup — I bring in United Restore. Once they've dried it out and cleaned it up, my crew does the rebuild. That means you're not juggling separate contractors and separate estimates. I coordinate it. (More on the inside work on my interior repair page.)
If you've had a fire, a severe water intrusion, or smoke damage, the first call you make matters. I document the exterior damage scope immediately — before anything is disturbed — which protects your claim and ensures nothing gets missed by the adjuster.
