Bundled into every NBD Elite roof. If you can't see the nail, you can't verify it.
LumaNail is a fluorescent-orange, ring-shank, UV-reactive roofing fastener. Visible from the ground. Verifiable in the attic. Built to outlast the shingle. It's the only nail I've found where you can prove every fastener was installed correctly — because you can actually look at it.
I've been in this trade long enough to know the truth: most premature shingle failures aren't shingle failures. They're nail-placement failures. An underdriven nail. An overdriven nail. A nail that missed the strip. One bad nail in a wind event and you lose the shingle — sometimes the row above it too. And the worst part: with a standard galvanized nail, nobody can tell after the fact. It's bare metal driven through the shingle, immediately covered by the next course. Trust the guy who put it there.
"With LumaNail, I see a wrong nail at nail one. I pull it. I re-drive. Before the shingle ever goes on top to hide it."
That's the actual reason. Not a marketing line. The orange head means I catch every install error in real time, before it's buried. And on the back end, you — the homeowner — can walk the attic with a UV light and see every fastener point. No guesswork. No faith required.

It's not a cosmetic upgrade. It's a fastener engineered to make bad installs impossible to hide — and good installs stronger than standard.
Bright orange heads make under-driven, over-driven, or missed nails impossible to hide. Mistakes get corrected before the shingle goes down — not after the leak.
Ring-shank construction provides superior pull-out resistance vs. commodity smooth-shank nails. Critical in Ohio / Northern Kentucky storm country where straight-line wind events are common.
UV-reactive coating glows under blacklight at dusk. Dropped nails get found — not found later by a tire, a paw, or a kid running barefoot through the yard.
Electrogalvanized steel plus powder-coat resists rust even if moisture gets past the shingle. No rust streaks, no fastener failure, no surprise callbacks ten years in.
Multi-layer corrosion protection, ring-shank construction, full compliance with ASTM-spec installation.

Your shingles matter. Your underlayment matters. But every component is held on by a nail. The nail matters too.
Same process as every NBD job. Just with a fastener you can actually verify.
Call or text me directly — I answer myself. We talk about your roof, storm history, and whether the Elite tier (with LumaNail standard) is the right fit for your situation.
I come out personally, get on the roof, check structure, decking, and document damage. You get a straight, honest assessment — not a sales pitch.
Tear-off, decking inspection, synthetic underlayment, starter strip, then GAF UHDZ shingles fastened with LumaNail. Every row visible, every nail verifiable.
Before I sign off, I walk the roof and the yard with the UV light. If there's a dropped nail or an out-of-spec fastener, we find it. Period.
I'll tell you straight: LumaNail is built for the homeowner who's staying. The visibility-for-life value, the verifiable-in-attic-for-decades thing, the "I'll know my roof is right in year 12 when something starts dripping" — all of that pays off if you're the one still in the house.
If you're selling within 5 years? Save the money. A standard galvanized nail will get you through the resale window just fine, and the next owner won't pay a premium for orange nails they can't see from the street. Get Standard or Preferred and put the savings toward something that actually moves at sale time — a kitchen update, fresh paint, curb appeal.
The honest signal: if you're on the fence about Elite vs Preferred and your only reason for going Elite is "the orange nails sound cool" — that's not enough. Go Preferred. I'd rather lose the upsell than oversell you.

Bundled into every NBD Elite roof. Available a-la-carte on lower tiers if you really want it.
LumaNail is built into the Elite tier as standard equipment. You don't pick it as an add-on; it's just what Elite means. Pair it with GAF Timberline UHDZ shingles, the full GAF system install, GAF Master Flow Pivot pipe boots, and the contractual annual inspection — that's the Elite roof.
Want LumaNail on a Standard or Preferred build? I can do that — call me and we'll work it into the bundle. I don't lead with it as an upcharge, but if it's important to you, it's available.
So you can see it. That's the whole point. A standard roofing nail is bare steel — once it's driven, it's invisible. With an orange nail, every install error is obvious before the next course goes down. I catch underdrives, overdrives, missed nail strips at the moment they happen, not after the leak.
No. LumaNail is compatible with ASTM-spec installation. The shingle manufacturer warranty (GAF, Owens Corning, etc.) requires a roofing nail of the right gauge, length, and corrosion-resistance class — LumaNail meets those specs. The orange color is cosmetic to the warranty; the underlying steel and ring shank is what the warranty cares about.
Yes — as an a-la-carte upgrade. It's not bundled into Standard or Preferred, but if it's important to you, ask me at the inspection and I'll work it into the bundle. I don't lead with it as an upcharge.
Mostly no, by design. The nail head sits under the lip of the next shingle course up — that's how every roofing nail is installed. From the street, you can't see them. From a ladder up close (or with binoculars from the yard), yes — you can see the orange. That's the whole point: the install is verifiable, not invisible.
Roughly 30% more than Standard, ~13% more than Preferred. Exact numbers depend on your roof — I can't quote a real number from a web page. See the tier comparison → or call me at (859) 420-7382.
