A Tarp Isn't the Repair.
It's What Saves the Repair.

When wind peels shingles back or a limb opens the decking, the water that follows usually does more damage than the storm did. Insulation, drywall, ceilings, floors — that's where the real money bleeds. A properly installed tarp stops the bleeding the day it happens.

Here's the part most homeowners don't know: nearly every policy carries a duty to mitigate — after a storm, you're expected to take reasonable steps to keep the damage from getting worse. Emergency tarping is exactly that step, and when the damage is part of a covered claim, reasonable mitigation costs are routinely part of the claim. I photograph the damage before the tarp goes down and after it's secured, so your file is built from hour one.

And I'll say the quiet part out loud: a tarp is temporary. It's a bridge to the real repair or replacement — not a substitute for it. I install it like it matters, because it does. Then you get a straight plan for what comes next, and if insurance is in play, I walk the claim through with you start to finish.

  • Same-day / next-morning response for active leaks — 7 days a week
  • Heavy-duty tarps, anchored to shed water — not a bedsheet and a prayer
  • Photo documentation before and after, formatted for your claim file
  • Wind, hail, and fallen-limb damage — roof, ridge, and valley coverage
  • Storm claim? I handle the insurance process start to finish
  • Straight answer on what comes next: repair, replacement, or wait

One of my tarps, from my drone: cap-nailed in tight rows, seated under the damaged eave so water sheds over it — not a brick-weighted bedsheet. The fastening is the whole job.

Tarping Questions.
Straight Answers.

How fast can you get a tarp on my roof?

Active leaks jump the line — call or text me directly and say water's coming in. Same-day when weather and daylight allow, first thing next morning otherwise. Seven days a week.

Does insurance pay for emergency tarping?

When the damage is part of a covered claim, reasonable emergency mitigation — tarping included — is routinely part of the claim, because your policy expects you to prevent further damage. I photograph everything before and after so the cost is easy for your adjuster to see and approve. If the damage isn't covered, you get the price before I climb — no surprises either way.

Will the tarp itself damage my roof?

Installed right, no — that's the point of calling someone who does roofs for a living. I anchor tarps to shed water and hold in wind while keeping new penetrations to the minimum the situation allows, and anything the installation touches is part of the permanent repair plan. A tarp flapping loose does more harm than good, which is why "installed right" matters.

How long can a tarp stay on a roof?

Weeks, not seasons. Tarps weather, UV breaks them down, and winter is hard on them. Think of it as a bridge that buys you time to do the repair correctly — the plan for the permanent fix starts the same day the tarp goes down.

Can you tarp it AND handle the insurance claim?

That's exactly why you'd call me instead of a tarp-only crew. I'm versed in insurance restoration — I tarp it, document it, and then walk the claim through with you start to finish. One person, the whole way. It's vastly different from retail roofing, and it's what I do.
