Amelia voted to dissolve as a village on November 5, 2019. The land was split between Pierce and Batavia townships along State Route 125, the first Ohio village ever divided between two townships. Source
📈 When the houses went up
The old village had 1,837 residents in 1990 and 4,801 by 2010, and the Amelia census area counted 12,575 in 2020. Most of the housing came in that one wave, so whole streets hit the end of a roof cycle together. Source

Amelia has a wrinkle most homeowners here already know but most contractors don't handle well:
The village that isn't a village anymore — since the 2019 dissolution, Amelia addresses actually sit in Pierce Township or Batavia Township. That decides which township's zoning applies; the building permit itself comes from Clermont County Permit Central either way. I sort out which side of the line you're on — you shouldn't have to.
The Ohio Pike corridor — the subdivisions off SR 125 went up mostly in the 90s and 2000s with builder-grade shingles, and those streets are aging into replacement together. Before you assume a roof this age is an out-of-pocket job, it's worth a documented inspection — same-age shingles plus a qualifying storm can mean insurance work.
The older core — the streets around old Main Street carry earlier homes with steeper pitches and, on some, more than one layer of shingles. Ohio code caps the layers, so some of these are tear-offs by rule — I'll tell you up front, with photos.
