The Montgomery Work I've Actually Done

Painted wood lap siding: Rot breaches in painted wood open quietly and let water into the wall for years before anything shows inside. On one Montgomery house I found two separate spots, packed them with exterior filler, sanded them flush, and painted to blend. Catching rot at that size is the cheap version of the repair.
A gable piece that let go: A single fiber-cement shake had come off a front gable. The fix was cleaning the failed adhesive off both surfaces and setting the original piece back, not selling a gable. I charged $250 because that is what it was worth.
Roofs on mature lots: Big trees mean shaded slopes, debris in the valleys, and the occasional limb strike. Streaking is usually cosmetic; a strike never is. I will tell you which one you have.
