Norwood takes the same storm lines as the rest of the city, but its housing stock is older and taller. Wind finds weak points on steep upper slopes, and years of patching (tar at a chimney base, rubber over dormers) usually means the next storm finds the last shortcut.

My Norwood Victorian is a good example of what an older home here can hide:
Three systems on one house: Architectural shingle went on the steep mansard, EPDM rubber on the flat section, and five dormer caps were converted from rubber back to shingle. Each surface needs the right material for its pitch. Shingles on a flat roof are an installation error, not a savings.
Undoing old patches: The chimney base had been patched with tar by somebody before us. Tar is not flashing. A full tear-off let us see and fix what those patches were hiding.
Tall walls, tight lots: Three-story walls and tight lot lines make access and staging part of the job. I plan that before we start so your neighbors are not surprised either.
