Most "premium" roofing pitches are about shingles. But shingles aren't usually what fails first. The fasteners fail. The pipe boots fail. The bath/dryer exhaust caps fail. The Better Build is three premium components I bundle into Elite roofs to solve those three failure modes. Not because it makes a glossy brochure — because I've torn off enough roofs to know exactly where they go wrong.
See the Tier SystemNot shingles. Not warranty paperwork. These three things — and they're invisible from the curb until the leak shows up.
Standard galvanized nails are bare metal — once driven, they're invisible. An underdriven nail, an overdriven nail, a missed nail strip — all impossible to verify. One bad nail in a wind event and you lose the shingle. Sometimes the row above it too. LumaNail makes every install error visible in real time, before the next course covers it.
Read about LumaNail →Standard neoprene pipe boots crack from UV exposure within 7-12 years. When they fail, water runs straight down the plumbing vent stack into your bathroom. I install boots designed to outlast the roof: GAF's all-metal Pivot Boot (no parts to fail, ball-and-socket design) on Preferred and Elite, or Roofivent's serviceable EPDM-gasket boot (lifetime functionality warranty) on Standard.
Read about Pivot Boot →Standard bath/kitchen/dryer exhaust roof caps are thin plastic with a flap that warps, sticks, or breaks within a decade. The result: condensation in the attic, a mold problem nobody connects to the cause. iVent ECO is a polypropylene unit with a built-in condensation drain and a serviceable rubber gasket. It vents the appliance and drains the moisture. Both jobs.
Read about Roofivent →I've been on enough roofs to know that "premium roof" usually means premium shingle, and nobody talks about the actual stuff that goes wrong first. The Better Build is my answer to that. Three components, three failure modes, no marketing fluff.
You can buy any of these as an a-la-carte upgrade on a Standard or Preferred build. But on Elite, all three are standard equipment — because if you're paying for the top tier, you should get a roof that doesn't have a 7-year-old plastic vent cap on it.
"The shingle is the part you can see from the street. The fastener, the pipe boot, and the exhaust cap are the parts that decide whether your shingle stays attached."

All three components are bundled into the Elite tier as standard equipment. Roofivent iVent Pipe Flashing also ships on Standard. Each component is available a-la-carte on lower tiers — ask Joe at the inspection.
